The Grand Hotel Europe, St Petersburg’s oldest luxury hotel, has been named the Leading Luxury Hotel in the world by World Travel Awards - travel industry's equivalent to the Oscar's (quote by Wall Street Journal).
The Grand Hotel Europe has added yet another prestigious award to its collection of accolades. World Travel Awards, an international organisation that stimulates innovation and creativity and encourages hotels to strive to provide travellers with the best price-quality ratio, thus facilitating competition in the sphere of tourism all over the world, has declared the Grand Hotel Europe the winner in its key category, “Leading Luxury Hotel in the World.” The awards ceremony took place on 8 November, 2009 in London, on the eve of the World Travel Market.
On 17 October, the Grand Hotel Europe was named “Leading Luxury Hotel in Europe” by the same organisation, as a result of which the hotel was nominated for the world’s top tourism award.

The Grand Hotel Europe has had many awards conferred on it, including such prestigious prizes as the annual Travel + Leisure magazine’s list of the 500 best hotels and resorts in the world, on which the hotel has been featured for five consecutive years; Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2008 & 2009 from Wine Spectator magazine, the most respected American publication devoted to wine; Grand Prix of the Best Hotel in Europe 2008 by Prix Villegiature; an honorary place in Forbes Traveler 400, a list of the best hotels in the world 2008/2009; Best Hotel in Russia 2008 by Afisha World magazine; and in October 2009 the hotel was named the Leading Luxury hotel in Europe by World Travel Awards. This award is particularly important for us. The Grand Hotel Europe has been named the leading luxury hotel in the world. InterContinental Hotels Group plans to open Russia's first boutique hotel under the brand name Indigo on Suvorov Avenue, 25/16a. The area of the future boutique hotel will be 7,5 thousands square meters, it will have 150 rooms. The project is planned to be finished in 2013. Indigo brand concept implies the creation of designer boutique hotel, combining in his guise of tradition of local architecture and modern trends of style.




Classification committee of the Federal Agency for Tourism of Russia, at it's meeting on September 3, 2009, has officially confirmed the category of 4 stars for Aerostar hotel. After the massive renovations, undertaken in 2008, the hotel meets all standards of the 4-star hotel : comfortable rooms, equipped with modern facilities, convenient location, 16 multifunctional meeting rooms, guarded parking, a fitness center. Hotel has earned a firm reputation as one of the best business hotels in Moscow, providing impeccable service and favorable living conditions and activities.

The long-awaited event has finally took place in Ukrainian capital, there was opened a new five-star hotel InterContinental Kyiv, located on the street of Alla Tarasova.
InterContinental Kyiv is located near the famous tourist attractions, and its modern-classical facade is in harmony with the cultural heritage located in the vicinity. 11-storey hotel building was designed by architect Sergey Babushkin. Pointed facade of glass and marble, was designed by Ukrainian sculptor Mikhail Reva and topped with three-meter statue of the Greek goddess Nika, - skilful combination of elements of classical and contemporary styles. The hotel's interior is designed the famous British designer John Tweedy.

At InterContinental Kyiv has 272 deluxe class rooms, including 5 Embassy suites, as well as the exclusive 212 sq.m. Royal Suite and 314 sq.m. Presidential suite, both overlooking the St. Michael's Cathedral. The two top class suites are equipped with highest-level security system and the individual elevators.
All rooms and suites are classically styled. The furniture is designed by the eminent British designer David Salmon. All rooms are decorated with silk curtains and the tapestries. Also, the apartments are equipped with the latest technology for business and leisure, including high-speed wireless Internet, plasma TVs from Philips, iPod docking station and Cisco IP-telephony.

The hotel has three exclusive restaurants: Comme il faut - a French restaurant, Olivera - Restaurant Italian and Mediterranean cuisine with a large open kitchen. The highlight of the restaurant is an opportunity for visitors to communicate directly with the chef. Modern panoramic bar-restaurant B-Hush has opened a furnished terrace with views of the Mikhailovsky Square.
The hotel has a large hall for parties, accommodating up to 450 guests. It also offers a conference hall, SPA-center, health club and indoor pool.
In August, in the center of the Russia's Northern Capital, near the Liteiny bridge and the Neva River a brand new hotel - Reval Hotel Sonya is planning to be opened. This modern 4*+ hotel will outstand from the line of the similar class hotels by it's very special approach to interior design. It will be set with the style and the spirit of the Dostoevsky's novel «The Crime and The Punishment».

The courtyard of the hotel can be used to organize banquets and special events. Guests will have access to the free Wi-Fi Internet all around the hotel.

St. Petersburg has got the Senate Square again
One of the most famous squares of St. Petersburg, the Decembrists Square, has returned it's historical name. Now it will be again named the Senate Square. The city governor Valentina Matviyenko has signed a special decree on this case. he square has received it's historical name in the year 1763, when the Senate of Russian Empire has started it's work in the house of the Vice-Chancellor - Count Bestuzhev-Ryumin, that is located on it. In 1782, there was installed a monument to Peter the Great - the famous "The Bronze Horseman." In 1925, at the the 100th anniversary of the Decembrists Uprising, which has happened at this place, it was called the Decembrists Square.
